Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree is required, although relevant experience may substitute for the degree when the candidate meets the required years of experience.
  • Three years of related experience are required.
  • Proficiency in communication, organization, customer service, and time management is required.
  • Advanced relationship-building ability is required.
  • Candidates must demonstrate active listening, adaptability, campus operations knowledge, collaboration, ethics, student advocacy, and task organization.
  • All candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization at the time of hire and maintain it throughout employment.
  • Employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check.
Responsibilities
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and networking events focused on finance industry trends, career opportunities, and professional skills development.
  • Support the school's employer relations strategy and assist the Corporate & Foundation Relations team.
  • Build and maintain employer relationships to improve professional development opportunities for Finance students.
  • Represent the department at events, engage recruiters, and conduct site visits with key employers to strengthen partnerships and program development.
  • Guide and support Finance students in building confidence and connecting with employers.
  • Educate students through appointments, presentations, workshops, and print or virtual resources.
  • Serve as a resource for prospective Finance students.
  • Support the existing mentoring program.
  • Collaborate with the OBSS Assistant Director to evaluate mentoring-program initiatives, strategies, and processes.
  • Coordinate the mentoring-program application and matching process.
  • Assist with mentor and mentee training and promote the mentoring program to Finance students.
  • Work with faculty, alumni, and industry professionals to stay informed about industry needs, policies, and trends.
  • Ensure career services align with current market demands.
  • Refer students with emotional, behavioral, or mental-health-related needs to the appropriate university services and promptly contact the Care Team, Dean of Students, or appropriate law-enforcement agency when a student appears to pose a danger to themselves or others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Higher Education Administration, College Student Development, College Student Personnel Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Communication, or a closely related field is preferred.
  • An MBA is preferred.
  • Five years of experience are preferred.
  • Experience working in a university career services office or in a Finance-related field is preferred.
