Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking an Accountant in our Headquarters (HQ) division based in Elkton, MD.
Job Responsibilities:
- Analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements, reports, make general ledger entries and to review/verify accuracy of journal entries.
- Prepares and maintains controls for assets, liabilities and financial transactions.
- Ability to effectively and clearly present financial and other data to all levels of organization utilizing numerous software applications and communication methods.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing schedule.
- Oversight of SOX compliance and internal audits.
- Act as key liaison with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DMCA).
- Responsible for assisting with the annual Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) to DCMA
- Responsible for assisting with the PS&C Disclosure Statement and any cost impact analysis tied to cost accounting changes.
- Ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are followed as required by government regulations.
- Develops appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
- Responsible for updating policies and procedures for any revisions to existing Government requirements and provide necessary training to impacted personnel.
- Responsible for applicable tax reporting.
Basic Qualifications:
Accountant Qualifications:
- Must have 6 years of experience in Accounting or Finance. Will consider Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business and 2 Years of experience in accounting or Finance; or 0 years of experience with Masters degree.
- Superior knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Software Packages
- Strong general accounting background with prior experience in budgetary and/or cost control and analysis responsibilities.
- Ability to balance multiple projects, prioritizes projects and meet necessary deadlines
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
- Must be able to work onsite in Elkton, MD
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of Deltek & Costpoint financial reporting
- Knowledge of CAS, GAAP, FAR, and SOX
- Experience in a Manufacturing Industry
Salary Range: $62,600.00 - $93,800.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate’s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
