Requirements
  • Education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Health, Public Administration, Social Services, Behavioral Science, or in a job related field of study.
  • Three years of professional work related experience specializing in the assigned area, including two years supervisory experience.
  • Skilled in the use of standard software applications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, departments and the general public.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, with a good driving record.
  • JUVENILE: Must become a Certified Juvenile Probation Officer and obtain a CPR certification within six months of employment.
  • Must pass an extensive background investigation.
  • Mandatory drug testing prior to employment and will be subject to random, unannounced drug and/or alcohol testing during employment.
  • Position requires working with juveniles who may have committed dangerous/aggressive acts; should possess a high tolerance for working in an emotionally demanding/stressful work environment.
  • Physical/Environmental Requirements: Standard office environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs., unassisted.
  • May require prolonged sitting or standing.
  • Ability to travel to various work site locations.
  • JUVENILE: This position may be located within a secured facility.
Responsibilities
  • Plans, develops, implements, coordinates and evaluates the fiscal, administrative and operation activities of a program or project(s).
  • Manages contracts, grants, and/or state funding; approves and monitors budget expenditures; prepares budget revisions; provides interim status reports on all accounts; oversees, coordinates and/or assists with proposal writing to develop additional funding.
  • Provides technical and/or professional coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program/project activities, as appropriate to program objectives and area of expertise.
  • Develops annual operating budgets and provides fiscal direction for the program.
  • Oversees and/or coordinates the collection, compilation and analysis of program activity data; develops and presents comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.
  • Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient operation of the program/project.
  • Designs, establishes and maintains staffing and an organizational structure to effectively accomplish the program or project function; hires, trains, supervises and evaluates program or project staff.
  • Performs community liaison and outreach activities for program(s) or project(s).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
