Responsibilities
  • Leading collaboration with business units to identify critical data sources, KPIs, and reporting needs
  • Managing ingestion of structured data into the enterprise data warehouse using tools such as Azure Synapse pipelines (formerly Azure Data Factory)
  • Building reports, dashboards, and data alerts using Power BI to deliver business insights; develop, publish, and maintain robust Power BI semantic models (tabular) including DAX measures, incremental refresh, and composite/Direct Query models
  • Administer Power BI Service (tenant settings, workspace & capacity management for Pro/Premium, data gateways, deployment pipelines, RLS/OLS) and enforce governance policies for consistent, secure self-service
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to define and maintain KPIs and standardized metrics across departments; maintain a centralized KPI Registry and Business Glossary
  • Monitoring and maintaining the operational health of the enterprise data warehouse and related BI systems
  • Partnering with the AI Enablement Lead to ensure data quality and availability for AI-powered solutions, including integration points with Azure AI Foundry/Azure ML and data contracts where applicable
  • Providing guidance to business users on how to self-serve using the BI platform
  • Supporting data governance efforts, including stewardship, access control, and documentation; developing and maintaining a network of Data Stewards and SMEs for Analytics across departments
  • Coordinating with IT on issues related to performance, permissions, and platform maintenance, plan for Microsoft Fabric readiness where appropriate
  • Tracking and prioritizing enhancement requests and promoting consistent practices across teams
  • Establishing and leading Visio’s data governance program, including roles, responsibilities, and ownership across business units
  • Identifying and documenting systems of record, single sources of truth, and data ownership for core business entities using Microsoft Purview for cataloging and lineage
  • Defining and maintaining data standards, naming conventions, and documentation protocols
  • Collaborating with department leaders to assign data stewards and support their ongoing enablement
  • Monitoring adherence to governance policies and supporting enforcement through documentation and training
  • Maintaining centralized documentation of KPIs, definitions, and metadata in support of self-service analytics
  • Partnering with compliance, security, and IT to align governance efforts with regulatory and access control requirements
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes
  • Managing other responsibilities and duties as assigned based on business needs
