DP World, the Dubai-based global logistics company, is expanding its investment in Kenya by developing the Mombasa Industrial Park, a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) that will strengthen the country's position as a regional trade and logistics gateway to address the growing demand for modern industrial and logistics infrastructure in East Africa. DP World - which manages cargo ports, marine services, and free economic zones - has signed an agreement with GulfCap Africa, a Kenya-based investment and development Group founded by Suleiman Shahbal, to develop the project in phases. The 222 hectares industrial park will be strategically located less than 20 kilometres from the Port of Mombasa, providing businesses with efficient access to regional and international markets. The first phase of the industrial park will span 40 hectares. Kenya is a strategic market for DP World, where the company has an established logistics and market access footprint. Leveraging its global expertise in developing and operating integrated logistics ecosystems and Special Economic Zones, DP World says it is well positioned to support the development of world-class industrial infrastructure that enhances trade, improves market access and drives sustainable long-term economic growth. Yuvraj Narayan, Group CEO of DP World, said Kenya is an important market for DP World and a key gateway for trade across East Africa. Under the program, four schools in Nadi, along with Suva Grammar School, will receive digital learning hubs, laptops and online learning resources. The initiative is designed to help bridge the digital divide and build digital skills among Fijian students. It also supports LiteHaus's goal to "digitise one million dreams by 2027". The move comes as DP World expands its footprint across the Pacific and increases its focus on community investment, education and long-term economic development in the region. The facility is located in Al-Masha'el district in the Al-Sali area south of Riyadh. It spans 15,250 square meters and provides over 17,000 pallet storage positions, along with scalable storage, inventory management, and distribution services offered by a single integrated logistics provider. The opening of the facility, according to a statement released today by DP World, comes as Saudi Arabia continues to accelerate investment in supply chain infrastructure under the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, boosting the growing demand for modern logistics services and advanced storage and distribution solutions in manufacturing, retail, e-commerce, and industrial activities. The facility provides customers with direct access to major transport corridors linking Saudi Arabia to the wider Gulf region.
