Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 1-2 years of HR generalist/manager experience; preference for large company and/or retail environment with both hourly and salary employees
  • PHR Certification a plus
  • Workday experience or similar HRIS with basic data input, running reports, and analyzing data a plus
  • Some knowledge of interviewing and selecting top talent
  • Ability to influence leaders through outstanding communications – both oral and written
  • Knowledge of employment law, Ken Garff policies, and employment practices
  • Travel to manage three dealerships in the Camarillo, Oxnard & Santa Barbara area is required
Responsibilities
  • Be recognized as a sound business partner with the GM(s) and other managers in your dealerships to influence KPIs, employee recognition, and employee career growth
  • Manage a total of 3 dealerships in the Camarillo, Oxnard & Santa Barbara area with travel required
  • Lead and influence dealership managers to align culture, employee performance, and initiatives with the values and policies of Ken Garff
  • Review employee turnover metrics and assist GM and Department Managers in formulating a plan to stay below company goals
  • Be a leader over data and analytics that influence managers and leaders to act toward desired outcomes
  • Facilitate culture training as developed via corporate and regional teams
  • Ensure all new hire onboarding tasks are completed including I-9 and benefit enrollment in required timelines
  • Be proficient with benefits to answer questions, provide accurate information and facilitate new hire enrollment
  • Facilitate absences and leaves, including FMLA, for each employee using the company leave vendor and established processes
  • Coordinate and facilitate Ken Garff Onramp (KGO) utilizing content provided by Corporate teams
  • Follow up with all new hires in first 90 days and encourage manager 1:1’s at 30/60/90-day mark to facilitate a positive experience

Ken Garff Automotive Group provides Thanksgiving meals to local veterans. Fort Collins and Greeley sites host drive-through giveaways as part of multi-state community service effort. Ken Garff Automotive Group is partnering with the Northern Colorado Veterans Resource Center and the Community Veteran Project to provide free Thanksgiving meals to veterans and military families during its annual "Drive Out Hunger" events in Greeley and Fort Collins. The effort is part of the company's "We're 'Hear' for You" community-giving initiative, which engages employees in hands-on service projects across nine states. Each vehicle that enters the drive-through will receive a tote bag containing a frozen turkey, sides, dessert, and cooking essentials - support intended to help Northern Colorado veterans enjoy a complete holiday meal. "Drive Out Hunger is our way of giving back to those who have given so much," said Brett Hopkins, CEO of Ken Garff Automotive Group. "We're proud to expand this event across all nine states where we do business, allowing us to connect with even more veterans and their families."
