About the Role
Lyra is looking for a highly motivated Manager of Corporate Development to help us realize our mission of becoming the premier mental health solution for employers and employees. The role will be responsible for flexing across multiple lanes, including new product development, assessing partnership opportunities, corporate strategy and M&A. The ideal candidate is a structured problem solver who can make rigorous data driven decisions in an ambiguous strategic context; have robust experience diligencing markets and companies, and be able to work cross-functionally to support implementation and integration.
This role can be carried out from our Burlingame, CA headquarters, hybrid, or fully remote/virtually. Remote candidates must be physically located within the United States.
Responsibilities
- New product development: Develop an understanding of market trends in behavioral health and identify implications for Lyra’s business. Create business cases for new products, including developing a decision framework, analyzing data, conducting market research and developing a framework for when we should build/buy/partner. Work with Go-To-Market and Ops teams to stand-up pilots ahead of making a go / no go decision.
- M&A opportunity assessment: Work closely with Lyra’s executive team to align on what types of M&A opportunities Lyra should consider, and develop investment theses to rapidly evaluate potential opportunities. Conduct market scans to identify potential targets and drive partnership exploration.
- M&A execution: Project manage deal execution, including business & financial due diligence, market analysis, and presenting recommendations to Lyra’s executive team.
Qualifications
- 4+ years work experience in management consulting, investment banking or digital health, with 2+ years of private equity direct investing experience in healthcare.
- Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to distill complex decisions into simple but comprehensive financial models
- Ability to collect, organize and analyze complex data at a macro and micro level with minimal supervision. Actively seeks the input and opinions of stakeholders; explores and considers a wide range of options before acting.
- Demonstrates high critical thinking and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail as well as an ability to tackle ambiguous situations
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey recommendations and conclusions. Experience presenting thoughtful analysis and a compelling point of view directly to senior leadership.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and balance multiple deliverables with competing timelines in a dynamic environment
- Must be a proactive self-starter with exceptional follow-through and the ability to work well independently with minor supervision.
