Requirements
  • A J.D. degree from a top-tier law school and a minimum of 6 years of experience as a commercial attorney, preferably with some experience in-house in a technology company.
  • Strong contract negotiation, drafting, and review skills, with experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts, including data center contracts, procurement agreements, and LLM licenses.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial awareness, with the ability to understand the company's business objectives and industry trends.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines while maintaining high-quality work and attention to detail.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the AI industry and technology, with the ability to stay up-to-date with trends and developments.
  • Proven ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and partners, through effective communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities
  • Successfully negotiate and draft contracts with key partners and vendors, including direct and indirect procurement and TaaS customer agreements, ensuring that the company's interests are protected and that the agreements align with its business objectives resulting in cost savings, improved service levels, and reduced risk.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive library of standardized contract templates and clauses that align with Groq's business objectives, ensuring consistency and efficiency in contract drafting and negotiation.
  • Develop a comprehensive process and conduct thorough reviews of LLM licenses, identifying and mitigating key risks, while advancing business interests.
  • Maintain a streamlined commercial contract review and approval process, ensuring that all contracts are reviewed and approved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Identify and mitigate potential legal risks and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations in all commercial contracts and agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and partners, through effective communication and collaboration, resulting in improved collaboration, increased trust, and enhanced business outcomes.
