Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience, is required.
  • One year of experience is required.
  • Experience with electronic health records and patient registration is preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
  • Frequent keyboard use and data entry are required.
  • The role requires the ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing 0–25 pounds; occasionally handle objects weighing 25–50 pounds; and rarely climb.
  • The role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements, near and distance vision, color distinction, hearing, and oral communication.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping are required.
Responsibilities
  • Gather information from patients and enter it into the appropriate database.
  • Seek appropriate resources to resolve issues concerning the type, date, or location of prescribed procedures.
  • Schedule patient procedures to efficiently use the patient's time and clinical resources.
  • Coordinate and communicate schedules.
  • Assist with activities related to insurance pre-certification and authorization.
  • Counsel patients, participants, or their representatives regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
  • Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in improvement plans.
  • Work on special projects as needed.
  • Review the work of others when required.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
