Requirements
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics from an accredited institution
  • Chartered Accountant or CPA license preferred
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting is required
  • Strong proficiency in Alteryx, including hands-on experience in coding workflows and building complex models
  • Expert-level proficiency in Power BI, with a strong command of DAX for developing complex data models, measures, and visualizations
  • Working knowledge of Anaplan is a plus
  • Experience with open- and close-ended funds (commitment-based funds)
  • Experience with bank debt, bonds, collateralized loan obligations equity, structured products and other fixed income products
  • Strong communication skills, ability to analyze and summarize complex information both verbally and in writing with colleagues in the United States/United Kingdom
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment and in a start-up environment with the backing and infrastructure of a well-established industry leader
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to multi-task and manage various deadlines
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; attention to detail and timelines required
  • Experience with Advent Geneva is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required (advanced skills such as VBA is a plus)
Responsibilities
  • Oversee and review monthly NAV packages from the fund administrator, including calculation of management and performance fees, as applicable
  • Review of US GAAP financial statements for monthly reporting and quarterly and annual SEC filings
  • Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, including reviewing work performed by the fund administrators along with producing original work papers and analyses
  • Work with and liaise with teams across the organization, including communications with portfolio managers, investor relations, operations, tax and financial reporting along with external fund administrators and external auditors to meet all monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines
  • Work closely with operations and other groups in managing cash and position breaks
  • Review of quarterly and annual GAAP/IFRS/LUX (SARL) financial statements and footnote disclosures for multiple funds as well as capital account summaries for limited partners
  • Review regulatory compliance filings (e.g. Form ADV, Form PF, SLT, etc.)
  • Review calculation of management fees, incentive fee/carry, PCAPS & complex waterfall calculations
  • Assist with preparation of US GAAP financial statements for monthly reporting and quarterly and annual SEC filings (10K, 10Q, 8K, N-2, etc.)
  • Review cash flow projections and daily cash management, including activity on credit lines, expected settlement timing of purchases and sales, and timing of capital calls and capital distributions
  • Monitor compliance with the Fund’s governing documents (e.g. Limited Partnership Agreement, Investment Management Agreement, investor side letters, etc.) and credit facilities, as applicable
  • Prepare and assist with ad-hoc limited partner reporting, analyst and front-office requests
  • Assist with preparation of information provided to the tax team for tax estimates and annual returns
  • Review and approval of expense activity and authorization of bank wires
  • Participate in team projects and initiatives for process improvements
Desired Qualifications
  • Chartered Accountant or CPA license preferred

Kodiak AI raises $100M at steep discount, stock tumbles 37%

Kodiak AI raised $100 million by selling shares at $6.50 each, well below its closing price of $9.10, causing its stock to tumble 37% in after-hours trading. The financing came from existing backer Ares Management and several institutional investors, and included warrants allowing future share purchases at $6. The self-driving lorry startup reported $1.8 million in revenue for the first quarter, but posted a $37.8 million operational loss, double the previous year's figure. Despite the steep discount, the company is pushing forward with commercialisation, announcing a partnership with Roehl Transport for autonomous freight haulage between Dallas and Houston. Kodiak plans to launch driverless operations on public highways later this year, transitioning from owning lorries to a driver-as-a-service model. The company went public in September 2024 via SPAC merger, valued at approximately $2.5 billion.

Barings backs StepStone's $3.1B secondaries vehicle in largest market transaction to date

Carey Olsen's Cayman Islands finance team has advised Barings Portfolio Finance and other senior investors on the rated note feeder financing of StepStone Group's $3.1 billion structured solutions vehicle. The transaction closed on 31 March 2026. According to StepStone, the deal is the largest of its kind to date. The vehicle enables institutional investors to access the firm's secondaries platform through a flexible, capital-efficient solution. Ares Management Alternative Credit funds agreed to serve as primary capital provider, whilst Barings provided a substantial portion of the rated financing. Citi acted as structuring and placement agent. The Carey Olsen team comprised partner Dylan Wiltermuth and associate Catriona Severns, working alongside onshore counsel Cadwalader, Wickersham and Taft.

AIPL Group company raises $65M via NCD issuance backed by Ares Management

Siskin Projects Private Limited, an AIPL Group company, has raised ₹550 crore through a private placement of secured, rated and listed non-convertible debentures. The debentures were subscribed by funds managed by Ares Management. KNM & Partners advised Siskin Projects on the transaction, which involved structuring a multi-layered security package spanning multiple obligors and lenders. This included cross-collateralisation across land parcels, receivables and shareholding, plus milestone-linked security release mechanisms. The KNM team was led by Tanuj Hazari, with support from Sidhant Ajmera and Smridhi Pathak. JSA Advocates & Solicitors advised investor Ares Management on the deal.

Ares secures $5.4B for real estate and hires ex-Goldman exec to lead Asia credit

Ares Management has raised $5.4 billion for value-add real estate strategies focused on logistics, multifamily and self-storage in the US and Europe. Whitestone REIT to Be Acquired by Ares for $1.7 Billion

HOUSTON and NEW YORK, April 09, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Whitestone REIT (NYSE: WSR) (“Whitestone” or the “Company”) and Ares Management Corporation (NYSE: ARES) today announced that Whitestone has entered into a definitive merger agreement (the “Merger Agreement”) with certain Ares Real Estate funds (“Ares”) pursuant to which Ares will acquire all outstanding Whitestone common shares and operating partnership units for $19.00 per share or unit in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $1.7 billion.
