Responsibilities
  • Supervises individual(s), including but not limited to hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates performance, and conducts professional development plans.
  • Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals and strategic initiatives of the department as established by the department manager, provider(s), and hospital leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets. Monitors actual performance against established budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve budget goals.
  • Conducts education to providers and staff on appropriate billing practices; supervises changes and updates to billing and coding practices with assistance of department manager.
  • Supervises, provides, and ensures the delivery of outcome-oriented patient care in a safe, clean environment following all external regulations and internal quality standards. Evaluates the care and testing delivered and intervenes appropriately to ensure optimal patient outcomes and experience.
  • Supports and directs team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards; Keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions, as needed.
  • Models the Boone Standards of Excellence, and is accountable for, customer satisfaction, process indicators, quality improvement plans, and outcomes in the department(s).
  • Promotes and represents the department(s) positively, in collaboration with the hospital, marketing team, and providers.
  • Supports and develops successful relationships with other units/departments, providers, and referral sources.
  • Assists in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, new programs and/or improving existing programs in response to manager’s direction.
  • Ensures necessary supplies and equipment are available and maintained.
