Job Description:
- Supervises and assists in the daily operations in assigned department(s), including supporting direct clinical care, proper documentation, and other required administrative functions.
- Supports, implements, and reviews department clinical policies and procedures; Assists manager and staff of department(s) to coordinate, develop and implement administrative activities to ensure business, quality, and satisfaction goals are met.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervises individual(s), including but not limited to hires, trains, assigns work, evaluates performance, and conducts professional development plans.
- Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals and strategic initiatives of the department as established by the department manager, provider(s), and hospital leadership.
- Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets. Monitors actual performance against established budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve budget goals.
- Conducts education to providers and staff on appropriate billing practices; supervises changes and updates to billing and coding practices with assistance of department manager.
- Supervises, provides, and ensures the delivery of outcome-oriented patient care in a safe, clean environment following all external regulations and internal quality standards. Evaluates the care and testing delivered and intervenes appropriately to ensure optimal patient outcomes and experience.
- Supports and directs team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements, and professional standards; Keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions, as needed.
- Models the Boone Standards of Excellence, and is accountable for, customer satisfaction, process indicators, quality improvement plans, and outcomes in the department(s).
- Promotes and represents the department(s) positively, in collaboration with the hospital, marketing team, and providers.
- Supports and develops successful relationships with other units/departments, providers, and referral sources.
- Assists in developing and implementing strategic initiatives, new programs and/or improving existing programs in response to manager’s direction.
- Ensures necessary supplies and equipment are available and maintained.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degrees: RN
- Experience: 2-5 years
- Supervisor Experience: <2 years
- Licenses & Certifications: Nursing License State of MO; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degrees: Bachelor’s Degree (BSN)
