Director, External Communications (US, Remote)

Job Summary:
The Director of External Communications will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy that enhances Suvoda’s brand reputation and visibility in the market. This role will oversee external communications and storytelling, including social media, writing, presentation development, content strategy and execution, and public relations, ensuring alignment with Suvoda’s values and business objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement external communication strategies to promote Suvoda’s brand, products, and services.
- Develop and hone a deep understanding of Suvoda’s external audiences, market, business priorities, products, and unique value.
- Craft and support the creation of external facing messages.
- Create and distribute content across various channels, including social media, the Suvoda website, blogs, and industry events. Manage content creation with external resources.
- Support Product Marketing with storytelling for priority industry events, including story arc creation, narrative and presentation development, and research.
- Support relationships with social media agencies, including guiding strategy, plans, and posts. Manage employee advocacy.
- Partner with Digital Marketing to monitor and analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all internal and external communications.
- Keep pace with competitor external communications, messaging and positioning.
- Identify, build relationships with, and develop external-facing messengers, including internal staff and external partners.
- Stay up to date on new technologies as well as industry best practices and trends to continuously improve and innovate the company’s communication strategies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field. Relevant Master’s degree preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in external communications, public relations, or a related field, preferably within the technology, healthcare or clinical trial industries.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to approach problems with a learner’s mindset.
- Experience and deep understanding with digital marketing and social media strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret communication metrics.
