CLEAResult acquires Connected Energy to expand utility demand management and DERMS capabilities

CLEAResult, North America's largest energy efficiency provider, has acquired Connected Energy, a technology company specialising in demand management and distributed energy resource management solutions for US electric utilities. Connected Energy's platform offers event orchestration, data visualisation, and performance reporting for utility demand management programmes. Its hardware-based direct load control technology enables utilities to manage commercial and industrial customer loads, including specialised agricultural demand response capabilities. The acquisition extends CLEAResult's existing demand management work into commercial, industrial, and agricultural markets. CLEAResult chief executive Rich McBee said utilities face pressure to manage demand and integrate distributed energy resources, driven partly by surging data centre demand.
