The Indiana Pacers are a professional basketball franchise in the NBA, part of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and they manage Gainbridge Fieldhouse as part of a broader ecosystem of fans, sponsors, and media partners. They earn revenue from live tickets, regional broadcasts, and a growing adtech/retail media program called the Fieldhouse Media Network, which uses AI and first-party data to serve targeted advertising across many publishers. The Pacers set themselves apart by blending high-performance sports with a global digital sponsorship marketplace, backed by analytics, minority investments, and long-term local infrastructure commitments. Their goal is to monetize the team’s brand beyond the arena by creating data-powered sponsorship opportunities that increase revenue and engagement for sponsors, fans, and the organization.

NBA's European basketball league attracts bids close to $1B from 120+ investors

The NBA has received multiple bids exceeding $500 million, with some approaching $1 billion, for clubs in its proposed European basketball league, according to a source. More than 120 investors participated in the non-binding bid process that closed on Tuesday. The league plans to launch in autumn 2027 with 14 to 16 teams across 12 European cities, including London, Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Rome, Milan, Berlin and Istanbul. It will operate as a distinct entity from the NBA, with 10 to 12 permanent members and remaining slots earned through qualification. The NBA will now review bids and select preferred partners with input from its Board of Governors. Team announcements are expected in stages. The league is also exploring collaboration with EuroLeague rather than competition, with discussions expected to resume soon.

Mark Cuban says NBA should embrace tanking, criticises league's recent team penalties

Mark Cuban has criticised the NBA's penalties for tanking, arguing the league should accept the practice of teams appearing to lose intentionally to improve draft prospects. The Dallas Mavericks minority owner made the comments on X following Commissioner Adam Silver's announcement that the league was considering changes to the draft lottery and potentially revoking picks to punish tanking. Cuban's posts came after the NBA fined Utah $500,000 for benching stars Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr. during a loss to Orlando. Indiana was also fined $100,000 for roster management decisions. "The worst thing the NBA conveys is that if you don't lie to your fans about what you're doing, even though it's obvious to them, they fine you," Cuban wrote. Dallas recently won the right to select Cooper Flagg first overall despite having just 1.8% lottery odds.
