Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Sales & Marketing is a visionary and a driver, responsible for leading revenue strategy, shaping the resort’s evolving market positioning, and playing a pivotal role in the Rimrock Banff’s rebranding journey. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies that maximize revenue across all segments.
- Forecast, analyze, and act on market trends, ensuring proactive responses to competitive landscapes.
- Drive performance across rooms, catering, and ancillary revenue streams with a focus on profitability.
Team & Stakeholder Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the Sales, Catering, and Marketing teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Partner with Revenue Management, Operations, and Ownership to align on strategy and execution.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous growth.
Brand Positioning & Market Presence
- Elevate Rimrock Banff’s positioning within the luxury segment and Emblems Collection.
- Represent the resort with confidence at industry events, trade shows, and client engagements.
- Champion innovative campaigns, partnerships, and activations that bring our brand to life.
Guest-Centric & Results-Driven
- Ensure sales strategies reflect the guest journey and the luxury standards of the resort.
- Balance bold revenue targets with a commitment to long-term guest loyalty and brand equity.
- Translate data and insights into actionable strategies that deliver measurable results.
Qualifications
What You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive leadership in Sales & Marketing within luxury hospitality or related sectors
- Proven success in driving revenue growth, market share, and brand positioning in competitive markets
- Strong network of industry relationships and ability to build lasting client partnerships
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, confident in any setting
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable results
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams with a focus on accountability and growth
- Comfortable making bold decisions in fast-paced, evolving environments

- Experience within a luxury resort or destination property in the Canadian Rockies or similar markets
- Background in repositioning, rebranding, or launching new hotel products

Physical Demands
The role of Director of Sales & Marketing is primarily office-based, with frequent movement throughout the resort and occasional travel to represent Rimrock Banff at regional, national, and international events. The position requires:
- Extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer use
- Regular participation in client meetings, site inspections, and resort walkthroughs
- Occasional lifting and carrying of marketing materials or event collateral (up to 20 lbs)
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, or holidays to support business needs, sales missions, or promotional events
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining focus and professionalism
