Legend Biotech is seeking SAP Capability Manager, Master Data Governance as part of the IT team based in Somerset, NJ. 

Role Overview

We are actively seeking a proficient SAP MDG Capability Manager with a specific focus on SAP MDG within SAP S/4 environments. This role is pivotal in leading the design, configuration, and development of SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) processes, playing a crucial role in Legend’s master data management program. We are looking for a well-organized and process-oriented leader who can build strong relationships across multiple business groups, becoming a trusted advisor in Legend’s critical master data management initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced SAP Capability Manager with expertise in SAP MDG (Materials, Finance, Vendors, & customers), particularly within the biotech industry. As the functional Manager, you will play a vital role in leading and overseeing the BUILD and RUN functional aspects of SAP implementations, enhancements, and support related to MDG processes. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional business teams, ITBPs and SI partners to optimize business processes and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, including SoX, and CFR Part 21 and GxP as applicable. By driving the successful delivery of SAP solutions, you will contribute to the seamless operation of critical data processes within Legend Biotech.

Key Responsibilities  

• Your primary role will be to design, implement and deploy a global MDG template that supports global business processes starting with the MDG M and F.
• Utilize your extensive master data expertise to demonstrate a profound understanding of SAP MDG Materials, Vendors, Supplier, FI objects – Cost center, internal order, profit center and others.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, partner organizations, and process owners to conduct comprehensive analysis on all MDG aspects addressing data quality, governance needs and dealing with all system design and architecture.
• Take ownership of the solution design and review for all master data sub-modules, ensuring seamless integration with both internal and external applications while adhering to SAP global design.
• Coordinate with functional teams to ensure timely completion and approval of essential artifacts, including URS, FD/CD, and Test Scripts, following the validation process. Create and maintain process maps, and user guides, to ensure a comprehensive knowledge base.
• Manage and support all activities related to audit and IT control reviews for the SAP MDG sub modules. Ensure compliance with financial controls and regulatory requirements by collaborating with internal and external auditors.
• Provide expert-level support for SAP MDG modules, addressing functional issues, incidents, and change requests. Work closely with the support team to prioritize and resolve tickets efficiently.
• Oversee change management procedures, including business engagement, impact analysis, documentation review and approval, user testing reviews, and acting as the gatekeeper for transport to production, ensuring smooth and controlled changes to minimize risks and disruptions associated with your functional area.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the MDG areas, leveraging SAP functionalities and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining regulatory compliance.
• Embrace and promote Agile principles and values within the team and projects, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and iterative development.
• Create an environment that encourages open communication, teamwork, and innovation, contributing to a positive and collaborative work culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in SAP MDG - Material Master, Finance Master Data Objects, Customer, Vendor, etc
• Minimum 2-3 End to End implementation experience in MDG including hands-on design and configuration.
• Successful implementation of SAP MDG in an SAP S/4 environment with a deep understanding of processes, systems, and data considerations.
• SAP MDG DRF and BRF experience (adequate to provide guidance to developers)
• Proficiency in replication framework with SOA, ALE/IDOC, key & value mapping, DIF, MDG Export & import of master data, and conversion of master data.
• Experience in technical areas of sequential and parallel workflows
• The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, be self-directed, and be capable of working with minimal supervision.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers.
• Ability to be flexible and work analytically in a problem-solving environment.
