Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years of experience, or 6 years of construction related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry, and trigonometry to practical situations.
  • Ability to analyze and compute mathematical differences from all stages of drawings, from conceptual to final drawings, including the development of shop drawings.
  • Understanding of cost accounting principles.
  • Basic understanding of construction software such as Primavera, Timberline, and Vista.
  • Ability to understand, customize, and modify spreadsheets.
  • Ability to develop construction schedules via the Critical Path Method.
  • Ability to understand contracts, specifications, drawings, and scope of work.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 percent.
  • Must be certified to process Employment Eligibility Verification (E-Verify) if conducting new-hire orientations.
Responsibilities
  • Support field activities and project administration for multiple small projects or one medium to large-size project.
  • Generate and obtain approvals for monthly billing and earned values.
  • Develop and manage project schedules on small or mid-sized projects.
  • Analyze targets, goals, job cost summaries, and other financial reports.
  • Alert the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impacts relating to resource management and crew composition.
  • Generate and obtain approval for initial budgets and subsequent updates while reviewing weekly job cost summaries.
  • Generate estimates for change orders and interface with pre-construction teams on original bids.
  • Collaborate with pre-construction and project teams to manage the job transition process and develop initial procurement plans.
  • Generate material quantity take-offs, scoping documents, and delivery terms to support the procurement process.
  • Generate requests for proposals, solicit and review quotations, and recommend procurement decisions to the Project Manager.
  • Prepare field purchase orders for standard packages and generate Major Purchase Orders for approval.
  • Gather monthly financial reports and participate in project financial reviews.
  • Approve and code project invoices in coordination with the Project Manager.
  • Generate technical records including constructability reports, Requests for Information, inspection records, work packages, and deviation reports.
  • Coordinate with the Superintendent and Line and Grade teams to generate required as-built records.
  • Manage work package closure, punch lists, and the project turnover process.
  • Collect documentation to identify the impact of potential contract changes, disputes, and claims.
  • Lead Lean and Safety Quality Productivity committees to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure subcontractors are in compliance with subcontract terms and generate impact notices as needed.
  • Review and confirm compliance reports regarding prevailing wage, workforce utilization, and Minority Business Enterprise or Small Business Enterprise participation.
  • Interface with Safety and Risk Management to establish clinics and assist with co-worker case management and injury reporting.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and coordinate tracking of training requirements with project management.
