Requirements
  • Five to eight years of construction-related survey crew chief experience is required.
  • Skilled use of GPS devices, data collectors, and total stations is required.
  • Experience with Trimble and Access is required.
  • The role requires independent judgment and initiative.
  • Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of land surveying is required.
  • Extensive background in construction surveying, construction staking, and proper staking procedures is required.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and instruments used in computer-aided drafting is required.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safe workplace principles and practices is required.
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment is required.
  • Ability to work outdoors under various field conditions is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Direct a field crew on topographic, boundary, and ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, as well as construction stakeouts.
  • Independently use and troubleshoot modern survey equipment, including Trimble robotic total stations and GPS equipment and software.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of field data, maintain detailed field notes, and perform on-site quality control.
  • Manage project schedules and coordinate with project managers and clients.
  • Train and mentor junior crew members.
  • Apply surveying experience to solve complex field challenges and adapt to changing project conditions.
