Astra Space focuses on launching small satellites. It provides cost-effective and efficient launch services using small, agile rockets designed to deliver small payloads into low Earth orbit. Customers include commercial companies, government agencies, and research institutions that need reliable access to space for satellite missions. The rockets work by carrying a small satellite into orbit and deploying it once in space; companies pay Astra to transport their satellites to their orbital destination. Astra differentiates itself from competitors by targeting the small-satellite market with affordable, streamlined launches and a leaner, faster path to orbit, aiming to simplify and reduce the cost and complexity of getting to space. The company’s goal is to make space access easier and more affordable for a broad range of customers, expanding access to space and enabling satellite-based services.

Astra ships 110 satellite engines, achieves breakeven EBITDA on $45M revenue

Astra has shipped 110 satellite engine systems since January 2025, surpassing a key milestone set when the company went private in 2024. The Alameda-based space technology firm achieved this with approximately 100 employees whilst developing its new rocket and mobile launch system for a 2026 test flight. The company forecasts $45 million in 2025 revenue, representing 700% growth over 2024, and expects to reach breakeven EBITDA. Astra closed $13 million in contracts during Q4 2025 for 36 additional systems scheduled for 2026 delivery. All deployed satellite engines are performing nominally with 100% mission reliability. The company has progressed its new rocket development to approximately 75% first-stage and 90% upper-stage design completion. Astra has engaged Nasdaq Private Markets and Siebert as advisors for a private capital raise.
