The opportunity

Unity Engine is used by millions of creators around the world to build powerful and engaging real-time experiences. Underlying these experiences is game code written in C# and targeting .NET. We are the Burst team within the .NET Tech Group at Unity, and we develop a compiler technology that compiles .NET code to highly efficient native code. We use the LLVM compiler framework as an industry-proven foundation. Our technology is already used today by thousands of Unity game developers.

We are looking for an experienced software engineer to evolve our compiler technology with the goal of advancing the state of the art. You will work with the team to design and build new features, as well as improve the performance and stability of our compiler.

What you’ll be doing

• Learning and becoming familiar with our compiler architecture
• Crafting and implementing new features within the compiler
• Improving the quality of the compiler by fixing bugs and writing tests
• Advancing our deployment and testing workflows

What we’re looking for

• Ability to design, communicate, and deliver software projects
• Experience with C#
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Experience with compilers
• Passion for learning
