Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in applicable STEM areas.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with contractors, industry professionals, government customers, and technical staff.
  • Ability to work closely with senior government management and guide senior leaders on space systems acquisition, design, or production through engineering presentations, informal discussions, and courses of action decisions.
  • 8 or more years of increasing responsibility and applicable experience in engineering and technical roles.
  • Experience in space systems engineering, acquisition, architecting, and integration.
  • Possess initiative, persistence, and ability to self-organize and accomplish work that meet aggressive timelines.
  • Willing to travel domestically/internationally approximately 25%.
  • This position requires a current TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearances, which are issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation of the department strategy to scope, layout and perform Mission Thread analyses for the Joint Warfighter.
  • Examine threats, and current and future system architectures to identify solutions from either a technical, policy or training standpoint in one or more of the mission areas; 1) MW/MT/MD 2) SATCOM 3) BMC3 4) Combat Power.
  • Develop and lead analysis teams to drive products clearly depicting the necessary steps to close risks, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Facilitate and drive discussions between SSIO government customer and other field commands, combatant commands, and across military branches to fully capture and enhance the US DoD space war-fighting capabilities and architecture.
  • Provide technical authority and recommendations to USG customers on identifying and developing solutions to integrate into US DoD space systems architecture.
  • Advise and mentor others regarding directives, policies, and capabilities impacting operationalizing the space architecture (application of non-space contributors).
  • Anticipate needs for future government leadership efforts to build necessary backplane across Aerospace.
Desired Qualifications
  • Twelve or more years of related, proven technical expertise.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary systems engineering activities for space systems.
  • Working with or developing SATCOM and space-based missile defense sensing technologies.
  • Confirmed acquisition and operational experience with SSC SATCOM, Space Sensing mission, Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Combat Power (CP) mission areas.
  • Proven experience taking initiative and delivering on commitments.
