Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of engineering preferred (ie: mechanical, electrical, fire protection or architectural)
  • 7+ years of relevant experience, or 9 years of experience without degree required
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in engineering design, A&E industry, electrical and energy codes, design guides and standards relating to a broad range of projects and/or program types
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred
  • Proficiency in Revit required
  • Experienced in communicating with external clients and customers and basic program management responsibilities
  • Enjoy training and mentoring less experienced designers
  • Self-starter, proactive and willing to teach, manage and/or help others
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities
  • Performs research and makes recommendations as to the feasibility of systems and or equipment
  • Performs advanced calculations and designs engineering systems - voltage drop, AGI/lighting, panel-board and one-line diagram
  • Prepares detailed construction documents and specifications through all project stages, coordinated with all disciplines
  • Reviews submittals and shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications
  • Performs project site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress
  • Communicates with clients for the development and coordination of the scope of work
  • Performs a limited range of program/project management responsibilities under the supervision of experienced program directors
  • Assists in resolving conflicts with owners, architects and contractors as needed
  • Mentors and trains less experienced designers
  • Provides technical design guidance and quality control on large national programs
  • Assists in developing, establishing and maintaining strategic partner and customer relationships in support of business development and/or project pursuits
  • Participates in client, company and industry events
  • Grows personal network by building relationships with clients and industry professionals
