  • Experience managing a software engineering team in a production environment
  • Prior experience as a software developer/architect (C++)
  • Experience developing scalable software solutions that will be used by dozens of developers
  • Experience developing automation scripts (Python/Bash)
  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Build and lead a highly effective team that owns the software architecture of Motion Planning and Controls and improve productivity of many engineering teams
  • Proactively identify gaps in engineering software development life cycle (SDLC) and system excellence. Work with other Engineering Leaders and Program Managers to create and own the team's technical strategy and roadmap while ensuring alignment with customers. Own the execution of the team's roadmap
  • Foster a culture of collaboration in your team and work with domain engineers in Motion Planning and Controls to identify pain points of development and testing. Collaborate with Frameworks, Systems, and Data Infrastructure teams to build and deploy tools to improve productivity
  • Mentor engineers on the team and play a key role in their professional development
  • Participate in design and code reviews
Desired Qualifications
  • Practical familiarity with closed-loop control systems, numerical optimization and/or signal processing
  • Familiarity with ROS, numpy & scipy, Python bindings for C++, and plotting/visualization libraries
  • Experience in code optimization or high performance computing
  • Experience with time-series data analysis and online performance monitoring tools
  • The salary range for this position is $199,600 - 293,500. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a , restricted stock units, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change
