Requirements
  • Ph.D. in engineering or physics, or a related field of study
  • 7+ years of experience in technical management leading diverse teams
  • In-depth understanding of the physics of experimental FRCs
Responsibilities
  • Mentor a team of experimental scientists to accelerate Helion's understanding and implementation of field reverse configuration plasmas to maximize fusion energy
  • Understand FRC theory and lead a team of experimentalists in hardware development, diagnostic design, data collection, and analysis of large-scale FRCs
  • Partner with the research organization to prioritize the highest-value areas of plasma physics research
  • Prepare research reports and documentation and discuss them with Helion's technical staff
  • Apply first-principles thinking and analytical rigor to challenging problems
  • Manage interface issues that bridge complex engineering and physics topics
