  • Five or more years of experience operating container platforms in production, including at least three years on Red Hat OpenShift, is required.
  • Deep hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes and OpenShift internals, including operators, custom resource definitions, role-based access control, and networking, is required.
  • Strong Linux administration skills, including networking, performance tuning, and troubleshooting, are required.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Helm is required.
  • Solid experience implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines on OpenShift or Kubernetes using Tekton, Jenkins, or Argo CD is required.
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go are required.
  • Working knowledge of cluster monitoring, logging, and tracing tools is required.
  • Familiarity with container image security and supply chain hardening is required.
  • U.S. work authorization is required through U.S. citizenship, permanent residency, an EAD, or eligibility to transfer an H-1B.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Architect, provision, and operate Red Hat OpenShift clusters across on-premises, virtualized, and major cloud environments while applying best practices for high availability, scalability, and security.
  • Design and implement multi-tenant OpenShift platforms with project isolation, network policies, quotas, role-based access control, and security context constraints.
  • Automate cluster lifecycle operations, including installation, upgrades, scaling, and decommissioning, using the OpenShift installer, GitOps tooling such as Argo CD and OpenShift GitOps, and infrastructure-as-code frameworks.
  • Onboard application development teams by providing self-service patterns, project templates, continuous integration and continuous delivery integrations, and supporting documentation.
  • Operate OpenShift networking, including software-defined networking/Open Virtual Network-Kubernetes, ingress controllers, routes, network policies, and integrations with enterprise firewalls and load balancers.
  • Manage OpenShift storage strategies across block, file, and object storage, including dynamic provisioning, OpenShift Data Foundation, and integrations with external storage platforms.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, EFK, and Tempo, and integrate the platform with enterprise security information and event management and application performance monitoring tools.
  • Harden the platform with security teams through image scanning, runtime protection, secret management, and continuous compliance with regulatory frameworks.
  • Design and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines on OpenShift using Tekton, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Argo Workflows.
  • Develop disaster-recovery and backup strategies for cluster state, etcd, and persistent workloads, and validate them through failover and restore drills.
  • Plan, test, and execute minor and major cluster upgrades with minimal workload disruption, including pre-upgrade validation and rollback strategies.
  • Partner with application teams to right-size workloads, manage resource quotas, and tune cluster autoscaling for predictable performance and cost efficiency.
  • Continuously improve platform tooling and developer experience by incorporating internal-user feedback into roadmap improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and act as an OpenShift subject-matter expert across the organization.
Desired Qualifications
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or an architect-level Red Hat certification.
  • Experience operating OpenShift on at least one major public cloud, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Exposure to service mesh implementations such as OpenShift Service Mesh, Istio, or Linkerd.
