Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for our passionate communities.

About You

Our Crunchyroll Technology Platform helps us scale to serve millions of users across the globe, and we are looking to expand our team of world-class engineers, so we can continue to innovate and offer rock-solid reliability to our content partners. You are a full-stack engineer and a professional with strong technical design principles, not a hacker. You understand the requirements and think before you code, adhere to principles of abstraction and best practices in API design, and are as cognizant of the limitations in what  you build as you are of your capabilities. You are familiar with many technologies and can confidently pick the right tool for the job at hand.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in back-end, distributed system design, preference for measurement and modeling over perception and intuition, concern for software performance and resiliency, and an interest in the latest technologies in the cloud computing space. You enjoy working with international teams related to your service domain. You also enjoy advocating for improvements overall in the practices of the engineering teams you work with. You like to take responsibility for critical operations.

Requirements

• Bachelors in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years as a software engineer working as full-stack engineer on cloud-based systems
• 1+ years of experience working with remote or distributed teams
• Experience with cloud-based infrastructure and its configuration
• Familiarity with code design principles, patterns, and best practices
• Experience with automated testing principles and best-practices
• Understanding of SQL or NoSQL data stores and their applications
• Experience with dockerization of microservices
• Experience with issue tracking software
• Experience with Golang or Typescript
• Experience with AWS technologies or any cloud solution like GCP or Azure

Pluses

• Familiarity with internet video or content management systems
• Familiarity with React/Redux
• Experience with implementing and operating systems using event-driven architectures
• Experience measuring and modeling cost and performance metrics of cloud services
