Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in business, communications, psychology, social work, or a related major.
  • At least two years of business development or related experience is required.
  • Experience with strategic planning, new business development, and negotiation is required.
  • Computer proficiency and working knowledge of software programs including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel are required.
  • A valid driver's license and insurable status under the Rogers insurance policy are required.
  • The role requires the ability to travel by car and/or air, be away from home for extended periods, and accommodate overnight and weekend travel.
  • The role requires verbal, written, auditory, and hearing abilities to communicate with patients, employees, and professional staff, with reasonable accommodations.
  • The role requires the physical and mental ability to perform job duties, verified by a post-employment physical examination.
  • The role requires numerical ability to maintain records and operate a computer, logical thinking and discretion in making decisions, presentation ability for individuals and groups, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Rogers service lines and promote Rogers services to community stakeholders.
  • Manage a territory using a traditional sales model, develop new referral relationships, maintain existing relationships, implement strategic plans, meet or exceed quotas, and adapt to marketplace changes.
  • Develop, manage, and further enduring alliances with existing and prospective referring providers.
  • Identify new referral and partnership opportunities and develop, maintain, and advance strategic referent relationships.
  • Develop and enhance alliance workflows and standards and plan and implement proactive daily growth tactics.
  • Engage psychologists, therapists, social workers, psychiatrists, school counselors, and other referral sources with an action-oriented, patient-focused sales message.
  • Manage territory routing, goal attainment, and time allocation.
  • Conduct daily in-person and virtual customer meetings, including cold calls to new and existing customers.
  • Conduct Lunch & Learns, breakfasts, dinner programs, professional networking events, and other results-oriented appointments and activities.
  • Monitor expenditures and use budget allocations effectively.
  • Assist in planning and executing continuing education events and promote continuing education webinars and in-person events during referent meetings.
  • Conduct on-site campus and program tours.
  • Use phone calls, email, social media, and other communications to maintain frequent contact with referents.
  • Maintain knowledge of behavioral health programming, diagnoses, and trends.
  • Communicate the efficacy, patient types, and outcomes of Rogers programming.
  • Demonstrate local, regional, and national market knowledge.
  • Participate in training and educational opportunities to build and maintain expertise.
  • Enter and maintain records of referent interactions in customer relationship management software.
  • Complete monthly operational and other reports and analyze reporting to make timely and effective decisions.
  • Submit mileage, credit card, purchase, and check-request expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Comply with system policies and procedures, including human resources, infection control, employee health, and patient safety policies and programs.
  • Promote a respectful, honest, collaborative, and solution-focused team atmosphere and communicate directly while using active listening.
  • Support organizational change, seek and provide assistance, and hold self, peers, and others accountable to Rogers values.
  • Promote department goals and the hospital mission, communicate goals to staff, and maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Incorporate external-agency requirements and guidelines, including those of the Joint Commission and the State of Wisconsin.
  • Maintain or communicate the function backlog to the appropriate party at the designated time.
  • Educate new staff about regulations or requirements related to their functions or departments, as directed.
  • Support and train student interns in the department, as directed.
  • Participate in hospital committees, performance-improvement meetings, and team projects.
  • Maintain punctuality, preparedness, timely responses, task completion, professional conduct, and a professional appearance.
  • Provide technical guidance and influence departments within Rogers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
