Requirements
  • Demonstrates competency in test administration and use of therapy materials and equipment.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Occupational Therapy from an accredited occupational therapy program.
  • Current licensure in Occupational Therapy through the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts.
  • BLS certification is required within three months of hire.
  • Kansas State Driver’s License.
  • Auto insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas insurance requirements.
  • Authorization to work in the United States is verified through E-Verify after accepting a job offer and completing Form I-9.
Responsibilities
  • Administer neurological, musculoskeletal, and pain-relieving rehabilitation procedures as ordered by the referring physician.
  • Administer standardized and non-standardized assessments, obtain and interpret treatment data, and implement and evaluate the patient plan of care.
  • Formulate and implement a plan of care through an age-appropriate comprehensive assessment that includes diagnosis and patient-centered, measurable goals and objectives.
  • Maximize each patient’s abilities safely, effectively, and appropriately by prioritizing patient needs and utilizing available resources.
  • Collaborate with and supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants in providing treatment.
  • Perform therapy assessments and reassessments within appropriate timelines and according to regulations to evaluate service effectiveness and progress toward patient goals and objectives.
  • Participate in and facilitate discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Complete timely and accurate patient-care and daily documentation containing essential information to communicate medical necessity for skilled care.
  • Provide occupational therapy services within the Kansas Occupational Therapists’ scope of practice.
  • Serve patients from newborn through geriatric populations.
  • Comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act privacy and security regulations regarding Protected Health Information.
  • Adhere to agency and department policies.
  • Manage conflict, consider other points of view, and offer alternative solutions while maintaining project direction and managing customer expectations.
  • Work autonomously and adapt to changing projects, priorities, and work volumes.
  • Collaborate with a diverse population and provide positive, proactive service to internal and external customers.
  • Lead teams toward conclusions or decisions through strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Lead day-to-day tactical processes while thinking strategically.
  • Manage and provide coaching and leadership on complex projects.
  • Lead or facilitate process improvement.

  • At least one year of experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist working with the geriatric population.
  • At least one year of experience as a certified Occupational Therapist working with the geriatric population.
