Requirements
  • For PM3, a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field, or an approved substitution.
  • For PM4, a Master's degree in Business or a related field, or an approved substitution.
  • For SME, recognition as an industry leader in the field of expertise.
  • Three to ten years of experience for PM3.
  • Ten or more years of experience for PM4.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Strong organizational ability and communication skills.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Willingness to travel 5–10% as required.
Responsibilities
  • Document project scope, objectives, key performance parameters, and key system attributes.
  • Apply working knowledge of project phases: initiation, planning, design, execution, and closeout.
  • Prepare monthly project review briefings for the Air Force customer.
  • Work with finance to develop project spend plans.
  • Hold weekly or bi-weekly project update meetings.
  • Advise the Air Force about project disconnects, risks, opportunities, and overall progress.
  • Define and document project requirements and deliverables through direct stakeholder engagement.
  • Manage complex projects of all sizes.
  • Apply knowledge of project acquisition strategy and key program events, including decision points, reviews, contract award, and Contract Line-Item Number structure.
  • Follow a structured systems engineering approach to facilitate project milestone reviews, including Integrated Baseline Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, Verification Readiness Review, Factory Acceptance Tests, Functional Configuration Audit, and Physical Configuration Audit.
  • Assess contractor documentation against project requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and stored in the proper repository.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Develop contingency plans to minimize risks and keep projects on track.
  • Foster and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support project execution across all locations.
  • Mentor, lead, and train junior project managers on the team.
