Cox Automotive launches Secure Vehicle Transfer with digital credentials to verify carrier identity at pickup

Cox Automotive has launched Secure Vehicle Transfer, a digital credentialing system designed to verify vehicle handoffs in the transport industry. The solution debuts through Central Dispatch, the company's automotive logistics marketplace. The system replaces manual, paper-based processes with dynamic digital credentials that verify the authorised carrier before vehicle pickup. Each credential is unique to a specific vehicle identification number, carrier, and location, and cannot be copied or forwarded. The credential can be scanned when the driver is within five miles of the pickup location, creating a documented handoff record. The process is designed to take approximately 90 seconds. Central Dispatch previously implemented biometric identity verification and plans to extend this to vehicle release points. The solution is launching as a pilot with select dealerships and carriers before broader availability across Central Dispatch's marketplace.

Cox Automotive: US new-vehicle sales pace to hit 16.7M in July despite economic uncertainty

Cox Automotive forecasts US new-vehicle sales will reach a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 16.7 million in July 2026, up from June's 16.5 million pace. This represents the strongest sales rate year-to-date for 2026, with monthly volume expected to increase 1.2%. The forecast suggests buyers are largely unaffected by economic headwinds, including high fuel prices and weak consumer confidence. According to Charlie Chesbrough, senior economist at Cox Automotive, the market is being driven by more affluent buyers who may be less impacted by inflationary pressures. Pent-up demand and record stock market gains are cited as key drivers, contrasting with last summer's surge which was fuelled by the impending elimination of electric vehicle subsidies.

Spyne announces integration with VinSolutions by Cox Automotive, benefiting dealer customers.

Spyne announces integration with VinSolutions by Cox Automotive, benefiting dealer customers. June 18th, 2026 - Spyne, an AI-powered retail technology company for the automotive industry, today announced an integration with VinSolutions by Cox Automotive, an intelligent automotive CRM built to help dealerships strengthen customer relationships and improve sales workflows. This integration is designed to support mutual dealer customers by improving connectivity between customer engagement and CRM workflows. Through this integration, dealerships using VinSolutions CRM can connect Vini AI, Spyne's AI-powered sales and service engagement agent, directly into their existing CRM workflow. Rather than managing engagement activity in a separate system, dealer teams can act on live CRM data, with every interaction outcome written back automatically - keeping records current without manual effort. Vini AI brings AI-powered calling, chat, service reminders, appointment scheduling, and follow-up communication into the VinSolutions environment dealers already operate in. Sales and service teams engage customers with greater context at every touchpoint, respond to leads faster, and maintain cleaner records - without the friction of switching between disconnected tools. "Dealers need technology that fits into the way their teams already operate," said Sanjay Varnwal, CEO and Co-founder of Spyne. "Our integration with VinSolutions is focused on bringing AI-powered customer engagement directly into the CRM environment dealers use every day. Vini AI works within that workflow, not alongside it, so teams spend less time managing systems and more time closing deals and serving customers." About Spyne Spyne is an AI-native automotive retail technology company headquartered in Gurugram, India. Founded by Sanjay Varnwal and Deepti Prasad, Spyne empowers automotive dealers with end-to-end digital solutions that eliminate inefficiencies, unlock more opportunities from their CRM, and accelerate vehicle sales.
