Requirements
  • Personal or family/caregiver experience with TeleHealth Services (Nova Scotia 811, Prince Edward Island 811, Tobacco Free Nova Scotia) within the last 12 months
  • Community or organization partner representative, whose members utilize or refer to TeleHealth services
  • Be 18 years of age or older
  • Can look at issues from more than one point of view
  • Can share honest points of view in a respectful way
  • Be reflective of the diverse populations and perspectives in our community
  • Previous volunteer experience is an asset
  • Interested in making a positive contribution to health care services
  • Sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Provide a Criminal Background Check (completed within the past 12 months) or be willing to obtain one
  • Declare any potential conflicts of interest
  • Be available to attend daytime business hours meetings in Dartmouth with the option of attending remotely by video/teleconference
  • Be able to commit to attend (3-4) meetings annually
  • Individuals can live anywhere geographically within Nova Scotia or PEI
Responsibilities
  • Provide input into TeleHealth Services for the EMC TeleHealth Patient and Family Advisory Committee
  • Bring a patient and/or family/caregiver point of view and voice to TeleHealth Services
  • Attend daytime business hours meetings in Dartmouth with the option of attending remotely by video/teleconference
  • Commit to attending 3-4 meetings annually
