Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of two years of prior Corrections, Military, First Responder (law enforcement, fire services, emergency medical services), Behavioral Health/Emergency Room technician, or related Security experience is required, or one year of Legacy Health Associate Security Officer experience.
  • A minimum of two years of experience with heavy public contact and an emphasis on customer service is required.
  • The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing is required.
  • The ability to maintain a satisfactory driving record is required.
  • The ability to use computer programs and write legible and grammatically correct reports is required.
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and remain aware of current surroundings is required.
  • Keyboard skills and the ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions are required.
  • A current valid applicable state driver’s license and a driving record that meets insurance carrier requirements are required.
  • Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required within 14 days of placement.
  • Successful completion of Legacy’s approved de-escalation training certification is required within 120 days of the first day of placement within the department, followed by recertification as defined by the course.
  • Successful completion of Legacy Health’s Safety and Security physical control program is required.
  • Department of Public Safety Standards and Training unarmed professional temporary certification (PS 20) or current Department of Public Safety Standards and Training unarmed professional certification is required within 14 days of placement; the certification must be obtained within 120 days of the first day of placement in the department.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and security of patients, employees, visitors, and physicians within the boundaries of Legacy Health.
  • Provide assistance to customers, patients, and staff as an informational and support resource.
  • Safeguard all Legacy Health property, including buildings, equipment, and other physical assets.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s degree in criminal justice or a related field is preferred.
