Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and 1-2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with multiple levels of the organization, including student, faculty, and staff roles.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills to organize, prioritize, and follow through on multiple deadlines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Gmail/Google Suite.
  • General knowledge of human resources policy and best practices.
  • Willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as manager for 175-200 student workers per year for the Watson Institute and its Centers, Initiatives, and Programs.
  • Create job requisitions, post jobs, and process student hires in Workday.
  • Coordinate with faculty, staff, and students to hire and onboard student workers.
  • Review and approve time worked for students, communicating regularly with students, faculty, and staff to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
  • Communicate payroll deadlines and policy changes to ensure student workers are paid in accordance with student employment policies and guidelines.
  • Oversee student worker budgets, monitor student payroll expenses, and report on those expenses and budgets to faculty and staff as needed.
  • Attend and actively participate in job fairs and related activities to promote student job opportunities at Watson.
  • Serve as Workday HR Coordinator, responsible for the application and oversight of daily human resources business processes and transactions through Workday.
  • Maintain and audit employment records to ensure accurate information, including job descriptions and organizational charts.
  • Maintain consistent and timely communication with University units to ensure timely and efficient processing of human resources and administrative items.
  • Serve as a resource to Watson staff and faculty for questions related to transactional business processes, including timekeeping, recordkeeping, and human resources policy.
  • Assist with coordination of the annual performance review and merit increase processes.
  • Support the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures.
  • Compile metrics and data for reporting and informational purposes as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with other human resources staff, including fellow Human Resources Coordinators, to ensure process consistency and resource sharing.
  • Create, review, and process positions and job requisitions for vacancies in Workday.
  • Coordinate recruitment, selection, and pre-employment processes, including communicating with applicants and hiring managers, scheduling and formatting interviews, applicant tracking, and collaborating with supervisors and managers on best practices and policy awareness.
  • Coordinate with Watson managers to facilitate effective onboarding, orientation, and training, and oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for Watson employees.
  • Manage and coordinate the hiring and onboarding of temporary workers through NextSource.
  • Maintain clear documentation of all human resources processes.
