Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional work experience in website content management, front-end programming, and/or digital marketing.
  • Strong experience with at least one enterprise web content management system, preferably WordPress.
  • Intermediate knowledge of HTML and CSS and their application within a centrally managed WordPress environment.
  • Experience ensuring and maintaining Section 508 web accessibility in compliance with WCAG 2.2.
  • Experience in responsive web design and mobile-first methodologies.
  • Fluency in design software for web development, such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Experience Designer, and/or Figma.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Google Analytics as a diagnostic tool for site performance and search engine optimization.
  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the online presence for the McCourt School of Public Policy.
  • Perform ongoing web development, content production, and website maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with the university's accessibility policy and maintain Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 standards.
  • Design and improve user experience, search engine optimization, and site-speed performance for McCourt's primary web properties.
  • Work with stakeholders across McCourt and Georgetown University to meet business objectives tied to online properties and maintain platform standards.
  • Track metrics and analytics and provide ongoing reporting, analysis, and context on the main site's performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for content updates and governance of the McCourt website.
  • Work closely with University Information Services Web Services and Information Systems Technology teams to ensure website functionality and design adhere to the university's central WordPress codebase.
  • Follow Web Services code standards and processes for front-end development in the central content management system.
  • Monitor Google Analytics 4, Siteimprove, and other server and site performance tools to maintain accessibility compliance and core website performance standards.
  • Collaborate with the McCourt Strategic Communications team, Dean's Office, faculty, staff, and other university stakeholders on web initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the MarTech team on web updates related to search engine optimization and paid marketing activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, particularly jQuery.
  • Familiarity with PHP programming.
  • Familiarity with Siteimprove as a diagnostic tool for site performance.
