Nine pharmacy benefit managers will integrate TrumpRx prescription drug pricing into their benefit tools, effective 1 January 2027. The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association and participating PBMs—including CVS Health, Express Scripts, Humana, and OptumRx—will display cash prices from TrumpRx alongside plan coverage costs. The agreement covers commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid plans. Patients will see TrumpRx prices for all listed drugs, whether through presidential deals or standard pricing. CMS Administrator Dr Mehmet Oz said the commitment will help patients compare prices and find better deals. PCMA CEO David Marin stated the transparency will allow consumers to make better-informed choices about prescription drug costs. Some PBMs will use Real Time Benefit Tools to display pricing comparisons, whilst others may employ different methods.

MedImpact to present on optimizing pharmacy benefits at MACo Summer Conference. The Maryland Association of Counties announced on July 16 that MedImpact will host a session titled "Optimizing Pharmacy Benefits for Counties" during the Solutions Showcase at its 2026 Summer Conference. The event is scheduled to take place at the Roland Powell Convention Center in Ocean City, Maryland, from August 12 to August 15. According to the announcement, MedImpact's session will address strategies for making pharmacy benefits easier to understand and more cost effective for counties. The session description states, "For most employer-sponsored health insurance plans, pharmacy benefits are the most frequently used and challenging. MedImpact seeks to make these benefits easy to understand and cost effective." It also notes that while pharmacy benefit managers are under scrutiny from mandates affecting Maryland pharmacies and retailers, there may be opportunities within the State of Maryland's current employee benefits contract that could benefit county governments. The Solutions Showcase session is set for August 14 from 12:15 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Organizers encourage attendees to register for the conference in order to participate in this and other sessions. MACo's Summer Conference theme this year is "Build What's Next." Additional information about registration pricing, sponsorship opportunities, exhibitor details, hotel rates, and related activities such as a golf tournament can be found through MACo's official channels. MedImpact, the largest independent pharmacy benefits company in the US, has launched two solutions to manage rising GLP-1 medication costs whilst improving patient access: GLP-1 Benefit 360 and GLP-1 Direct Fund. GLP-1 Benefit 360 offers capped pricing for plans and members, integrated lifestyle support through the MedEmpower Fuel mobile app, and access to registered dietitians. The solution addresses the issue that over half of patients discontinue GLP-1 therapy within three months by providing personalised coaching at no additional cost. The GLP-1 Direct Fund allows healthcare payers to contribute set amounts toward direct-to-consumer pricing, offering members lower out-of-pocket costs whilst protecting plans from unpredictable cost increases. Both solutions bypass traditional high-cost pharmacy models to provide predictable pricing and clinical support.
SRS Benefit Partners and MSL Captive Solutions provide alternative risk financing solutions that protect employers from sky-high administrative fees and renewals
