Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with OEM Design Studios on Class A surface design of displays
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in display technology development and management
  • 10+ years of product development experience
  • Excellent understanding of hardware engineering, including knowledge in PCB development, circuit analysis, schematics, and component selection
  • Proven leadership experience managing diverse technical teams
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of successful project execution
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers and managers in the development of innovative display solutions
  • Develop strategic plans for display technology advancements, ensuring alignment with business and design studio objectives
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of display development projects from conception to execution
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects while maintaining high-quality standards
  • Drive the ongoing development and maintenance of display technology, ensuring cutting-edge solutions that meet market demands
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to explore and implement new technologies in display systems
  • Act as the single point of contact for display development, facilitating effective communication across departments
  • Work with development teams to root cause issues arising from development and field feedback
  • Lead the display development team to enhance in-house design capabilities as part of the “Design First” initiative at GM, bringing hardware design work internally as a build to print
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize project outcomes and team performance
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with display technology projects
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather insights and feedback for continuous improvement of display products
  • Represent the organization at industry events and conferences to showcase our display technology capabilities
  • Stay abreast of new technology and safety analysis techniques
  • Domestic and/or international travel as required (minimal, 10% max)

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
