  • Bachelor's: Degree in Nursing, Health Administration or related field. or equivalent education/experience
  • RN-Registered Nurse of California
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • 15 years of recent relevant experience
  • Demonstrates clinical proficiency and knowledge to effectively plan and coordinate patient care consistent with applicable standards and regulations
  • Understanding of clinical operations and workflows, and how operational process/workflow impacts other department operations
  • Working knowledge and thorough understanding of health care laws, licensing and accreditation requirements, and clinical standards of practice with the ability to interpret and implement applicable requirements to ensure operational compliance
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and regulatory changes, and how it impacts operations
  • Business acumen, demonstrating ability to establish goals and standards to meet long and short- term objectives and make sound business decisions

Responsibilities
  • Provides administrative and nursing leadership to a team of multi-disciplinary leaders managing the delivery of patient care, or to a significant sized nursing team that operates across multiple campuses/affiliates
  • Participates in system-sponsored nursing and other relevant initiatives, establishing goals and standards to support patient care initiatives and to ensure the delivery of high-value quality care and achievement of common objectives
  • Develops and fosters a solid partnership with physicians, medical staff and Sutter Health leaders, and employees to facilitate and collaborate on initiatives, to resolve operational challenges and/or to improve processes
  • Works with senior leadership to develop and establish short- and long-term strategic plans that complement system, operating unit or affiliate goals and initiatives, including business, operations, and/or organizational priorities
  • Sets priorities to align with business objectives and annual plan
  • Establishes the direction of policies and procedures, and sets a structure for providing safe, consistent and effective patient care
  • Establishes overall operating and capital budget with input from management team, ensuring financial targets are achieved and variances are addressed timely
