  • Experience with RF circuit-board layout and transmission-line design is required.
  • Experience working in collaborative design environments is required.
  • Experience presenting briefings to internal technical leadership and/or external customers is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities
  • Design front-end RF signal-chain circuits and assemblies for space-vehicle communication and signal-analysis systems using filters, amplifiers, mixers, couplers, impedance-matching networks, and related components.
  • Design stable, low-phase-noise oscillators and distribution networks.
  • Design RF digitizer circuits and assemblies using multi-gigasample-per-second analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converter components.
  • Create sampling and frequency-conversion plans for multi-gigahertz instantaneous-bandwidth signals.
  • Integrate front-end RF circuits, oscillators, and digitizer assemblies with existing field-programmable-gate-array-based digital signal-processing functions.
  • Establish technical requirements, perform system trade studies, conduct design reviews, and track delivery schedules with project teams.
  • Collaborate with RF group members and other engineers to satisfy multidisciplinary requirements.
  • Create engineering documentation according to the company's workflow.
  • Support printed circuit board layout engineers in meeting RF performance requirements.

  • Contribute analyses and design alternatives to product and program proposals.
  • Interact with customers to address RF requirements, trade-offs, and constraints.
  • Manage multiple concurrent assignments.
  • Provide training and guidance to less-experienced RF engineers.
  • Lead process improvements within the RF Engineering Group.
  • Create reports and deliver summary presentations to product and project leadership.
  • Serve as a technical expert in at least one RF engineering specialty: front-end circuit design and analysis; oscillator and clock design and analysis; three-dimensional electromagnetic modeling of printed-circuit-board transmission lines and structures; or design-verification measurements.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience designing direct-sampling or frequency-converting digital RF systems.
  • Siemens Xpedition schematic-capture tools.
  • Cadence, AWR Microwave Office, or Keysight ADS.
  • Ansys SIwave and HFSS.
