Requirements
- Demonstrated ability in helping others.
- Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of mental illness or other human service experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to be organized and manage time effectively.
- College classes in human services are preferred but not required.
- A valid and insurable driver's license is preferred but not required.
- A personal vehicle is required for business purposes when not transporting clients.
Responsibilities
- Provide supportive counseling to adults with mental illness who live in a group home.
- Provide rehabilitation skills, including teaching daily living skills, medication management, coping skills, crisis intervention, and crisis prevention.
- Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients.
- Perform household tasks such as cleaning, inventory, and medication counts.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Transport clients using agency vehicles.
- Remain available to clients during the overnight shift and rest when permitted after completing required tasks.
