Requirements

BS/MS in Engineering or Science with 1-3 years of relevant experience or equivalent industry experience.
Experience building test rigs and setups and conducting tests.
Experience with power electronics, hydraulics and pneumatic systems.
Ability to develop hardware and software acceptance test solution on a new product with minimal oversight.
Must understand electronics testing methods and possess knowledge of industry wide tests and testing equipment.
Experience in the verification/validation of system requirements.
Experience with machine shop tools such as CNC, lathe, mill, drill, 3D printers, soldering, etc.

Responsibilities

Design and build test setups for executing structural, thermal, fluid-flow, electrical and optical tests.
Create effective data acquisition systems to collect data for months of testing.
Identify instrumentation requirements and integrate them in the test set-up designs.
Work with design team to develop quick prototypes for testing.
Design and build all necessary test automation equipment.
Apply engineering know-how in the areas of optics, precision mechanism design, motion control.
Apply scientific methods/testing to debug issues and implement robust solutions.
Document test results and write reports.
Perform data analysis to understand trends from test data.

Atomic is building a stealth start-up / pre-launch startup working towards the development of a modular renewable energy solution, starting with a solar-thermal technology.

We are looking for a driven, self-starter engineer to develop test setups and execute tests across a variety of sub-systems. You will work closely with the Lead Mechanical Engineer and have significant inputs to the product success. This position requires integration, testing and fielding of software/hardware for a test set supporting research and development and production of optical, mechanical, and thermal systems.

This role is reporting directly to the CEO/Co-Founder. This role is based onsite in Miami, Florida.

What You’ll Do:

What You Have:

Preferred Skills:

Basic programming skills with python is a plus.
CAD skills are a plus: SolidWorks, Creo.
Analysis skills are a plus: Finite element analysis.
