- At least 10 years of experience in a Survey Crew Chief role.
- Ability to effectively communicate with contractors, inspectors, and team leaders.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans.
- Commute to and from sites daily in a company-provided truck.
- Perform survey activities such as leveling, traversing, topographic mapping, construction layout, as-built surveys, boundary surveys, and profile and cross-section surveys.
- Set up, adjust, and operate Trimble survey equipment including total station, data collector, and GPS equipment.
- Measure distances, angles, and elevations for staking purposes.
- Review survey field calculations and adjust when needed.
- Locate or establish vertical and horizontal control.
- Utilize Trimble equipment to locate existing features/utilities.
- Prepare accurate field notes and complete as-built drawings.
- Responsible for maintaining work-issued vehicle, laptop, and survey equipment.
- Follow Atwell’s safety protocols.
- Ensure product quality by following Atwell, client, local, and state policies, best practices, and standards.
- Work independently as a one-person crew or collaborate with a survey crew member.
- Attend paid training and development event opportunities.
- As a subject matter expert and mentor to survey crew members, you may be asked to assist with your crew member's new hire training plan, career planning, and continuous professional development at Atwell.

- Experience with Trimble equipment (preferred).

Atwell acquires Capital Civil Engineering, expanding engineering resources and expertise in the Southeast.
Atwell has acquired Terrascape Consulting, enhancing its engineering and surveying capabilities in the Southwest. Terrascape, based in Phoenix, Arizona, specializes in multi-family, affordable housing, and retail projects. This acquisition aligns with Atwell's growth strategy and follows its acquisition of SEI Engineering in January 2025.
