Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Roadway/Highway design engineering
  • Experience working on KYTC projects
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Experience with project management and accounting software
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Assist in growing and leading a high performing roadway/highway design team consisting of engineers and technicians
  • Serve as a project manager for roadway/highway design projects, overseeing and participating in project execution from initiation to completion
  • Perform quality checks on work performed by project team members
  • Provide leadership in the planning, design, and execution of major projects
  • Prepare project documents, design, conduct analyses, interpret data, and plan and coordinate the engineering work to ensure timely and successful project delivery
  • Review and approve project deliverables, including drawings and specifications
  • Serve as a technical expert in roadway design engineering
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, ensuring a high level of service, communication, and client satisfaction
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning and assists with business development
  • Prepare proposals and/or funding applications
