Requirements
  • Five years of relevant experience in fundraising, development, customer service, or sales.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship management and peer-to-peer fundraising.
  • Ability to relate to donors and volunteers from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated negotiating and listening skills.
  • Donor- and customer-oriented skills, including excellent writing, telephone, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising software.
  • Clear communication and the ability to influence others.
  • Ability to travel frequently within the Phoenix territory area, including evening and weekend commitments during key campaign periods and fundraising events.
  • A valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
  • Establish and activate high-profile national fundraising initiatives throughout the area, including St. Jude Dream Home campaigns, radiothons, and other signature programs.
  • Recruit volunteers, sponsors, and community partners to implement national program best practices, ensure campaign compliance, and maximize revenue.
  • Attain and exceed financial and stewardship goals established by territory and area leadership.
  • Create and build relationships with volunteers and donors through primarily face-to-face interaction, recruit new partners, and grow existing relationships.
  • Provide support, motivation, direction, and resources for fundraising initiatives through personal visits, written correspondence, and electronic communication.
  • Create and implement marketing and recruitment plans for events through research, current market trends, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media partners and support promotional activities that increase awareness and fundraising results.
  • Develop and grow multiple high-value revenue-producing events, including dinners, galas, golf tournaments, dream homes, and walks.
  • Prepare written correspondence before and after events and maintain accurate records of event contacts and revenues using appropriate tools and systems.
  • Serve as a public-facing representative of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with media partners, sponsors, volunteers, donors, and community stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal area and enterprise teams, volunteers, and other stakeholders to identify, cultivate, and solicit Dream Home and Radiothon donors.
  • Conduct prospect research on potential donors and develop sponsorship proposals.
