Position Summary

As an Engineering Director, you will be responsible for leading and growing our engineering team. You will strategically guide the team’s direction, ensuring alignment with company goals. Your role will involve hiring, developing, and managing a diverse team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment. You will also collaborate closely with product, design, customer success, and support teams to ensure seamless project delivery and customer satisfaction. Leading our bug bounty and pentest engineering team, you will address the complex needs of our global customers, effectively managing escalations and expectations. Additionally, you will balance customer requirements with the team’s capacity to drive innovative solutions within a dynamic environment. Strong communication skills will be essential for navigating challenges, building relationships, and ensuring customers feel valued and supported.

What You Will Do
Empower a team of engineers with varying levels of expertise and domain experience to achieve a high level of efficiency, quality and consistency.
Manage a Senior Manager and their team of engineers in North America
Oversee a global IC engineering support team
Expand the team through hiring and onboarding.
Collaborate extensively with stakeholders across the entire company. You’ll find yourself working most closely with Product, Design, your fellow engineers, and our most strategic customers, but will need strong relationships with all departments to be most effective.
As part of an engineering leadership team that punches far above its weight, you’ll dive into projects that influence the processes, efficiency, and development of HackerOne’s Engineering department.

Minimum Qualifications
10+ years managing software engineering departments/teams
Experience in customer support desk roles and/or organizations
Customer engagement experience
Strong stakeholder management skills
Proven track record of delivering within time and budget constraints
Proven leadership experience in engineering, preferably within the security domain
Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities
Passion for empowering and developing engineering talent
Excellent collaboration and communication skills
Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
