Requirements
  • A minimum of 7 years of applicable systems and network administration experience.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college in computer science or a related field; an additional four years of qualifying experience beyond the stated minimum may substitute for the required education.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, current Windows Servers, and Internet protocols including DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, and SFTP.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory Services, Entra ID, Office 365, and SharePoint document management.
  • Experience with VPN appliances and Cisco Meraki appliances.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise antivirus, CrowdStrike, Zoom Administration, Microsoft Teams, and network security including VPNs, ACLs, IPSEC, and SSL.
  • Experience with website, intranet, and SharePoint support, PowerShell scripting, and automation, including developing scripted solutions to simplify administrative processes.
  • Experience with VMware, Hyper-V hypervisors, and cloud architecture.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and privacy principles, Rubrik Backup and Recovery, Nessus, and Splunk.
Responsibilities
  • Configure, manage, and provide technical networking support for physical and virtual environments, including hosts, operating systems, and storage.
  • Test, install, configure, and maintain operating systems, application software, and network device configurations.
  • Ensure system uptime and communicate with other members of the corporate team.
  • Oversee administration of network-related systems and servers to ensure service availability for the client's user community.
  • Install and configure client and server network software and perform software upgrades as needed.
  • Proactively monitor and identify network and system issues and take corrective action to ensure efficient network and computing operations.
  • Manage assigned projects to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
  • Configure, manage, and provide technical support for firewalls, Wi-Fi access points, network switches, and other network devices.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel, and outside vendors, providing timely technical assistance and support.
  • Investigate network and server infrastructure issues and propose resolutions.
  • Share knowledge, document procedures and standard operating procedures, and provide training when required.
  • Research network products, services, protocols, and standards to support network procurement and development efforts.
  • Provide technical support for installation and maintenance of network systems.
  • Support existing networks and perform upgrades as needed.
  • Maintain network security firewalls and define network access rights.
  • Maintain disaster recovery procedures and contingency plans during system failures.
  • Perform network routing, cabling, and switching activities.
  • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures to ensure quality and productivity.
  • Develop system installation and configuration documentation for reference.
  • Design network topologies and identify and correct network non-compliance issues.
  • Respond promptly during outages and recommend solutions for performance issues.
  • Recommend networking technologies to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Maintain network infrastructure and perform modifications and expansions when needed.
  • Work with other network engineers to plan and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.
  • Perform root cause analysis of network issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop, test, analyze, and implement security systems.
  • Assess and manage system vulnerabilities.
  • Respond to security threats, attacks, and similar events, and develop threat prevention strategies.
  • Generate regular reports for executives and administrators.
  • Support the helpdesk and web services support functions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience providing information technology support for a large construction bond program.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+, or Cisco CCNP Enterprise.

VSS Capital Partners invests in Los Angeles engineering firm Cordoba with $250B project portfolio

VSS Capital Partners has completed a growth investment in Cordoba, LLC, a Los Angeles-based engineering, construction and programme management firm serving the Pacific Coast. Financial terms were not disclosed. Founded in 1983, Cordoba employs over 400 professionals providing services across education, energy, transportation and water infrastructure sectors. The company has worked on capital improvement projects totalling more than $250 billion since inception. George L. Pla, founder and CEO of Cordoba, said VSS was selected as a minority investment partner to provide capital for growth whilst maintaining the company's existing values and approach. VSS Capital Partners, headquartered in New York, specialises in flexible capital solutions for founder-led businesses. The firm has approximately $4 billion in committed capital and has completed over 100 platform investments.
