Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- At least 5 years of experience as a front-line mechanic working with gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, suspension systems, transmissions, and air conditioning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASE Certification is required.
- Possess and maintain a valid Ohio driver's license with no more than four points and approval by the company's insurance provider to drive company vehicles.
- Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet the knowledge, skill, and ability requirements of the role.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair ambulances and all other road vehicles under minimal supervision.
- Drive company vehicles in accordance with company driving policies.
- Immediately notify management of any accident involving company vehicles or damage to or loss of company property.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair brakes, tires, driveline, steering and suspension, electrical systems, air conditioning, and engines and suspensions.
- Follow strict maintenance schedules and perform required maintenance in a timely manner.
- Observe, diagnose, prioritize, and repair various mechanical and electrical problems.
- Use diagnostic equipment, tools, and other shop equipment.
- Test-drive each vehicle over an approved route consisting of city streets and highways for at least 5 miles.
