Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school and completion of residency and/or fellowship in obstetrics and gynecology are required.
  • Current or recent experience in obstetrics and gynecology is required.
  • Must hold an MD or DO licensed by the state licensure board within the state of practice.
  • Must be board certified or board eligible in obstetrics and gynecology by the appropriate medical board.
  • Must obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
  • Must be eligible for and maintain eligibility as a provider of Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
  • Must meet all qualifications to participate in professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
  • Must be able to meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including lifting, carrying, pushing, patient transport, bending, reaching, and visual, auditory, and tactile abilities.
Responsibilities
  • Perform history and physical examinations for all patients seen and provide consultations requested by other physicians.
  • Round on assigned patients and patients requested for consultation, collaborating with an Advanced Practitioner as needed.
  • Provide cost-effective, high-quality care based on best-practice, evidence-based medicine.
  • Adhere to standardized orders and practice guidelines approved by the medical staff.
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment across the relevant range, knowledge of growth and development, and age-appropriate communication.
  • Communicate regularly, timely, and appropriately with referring physicians, patients, and their families.
  • Educate patients and their families.
  • Participate in regular practice-group meetings.
  • Maintain current medical-record documentation and respond promptly to chart-review and completion requests.
  • Submit timely and accurate billing information.
  • Supervise Advanced Practitioners.
  • Attend continuing medical education to maintain Pennsylvania and New Jersey licensure.
  • Develop effective working relationships within the hospital and St. Luke’s University Health Network.
  • Perform other duties assigned and required within the area of specialty or service line.
