Requirements
  • Current license as a Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts with prescriptive authority
  • Board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits for adult patients referred through BILH Primary Care and BILH Specialty Practices in the Plymouth area.
  • Provide evidence-based psychopharmacological treatment and short term medication management.
  • Collaborate with primary care providers, behavioral health clinicians, and care managers to support integrated treatment planning.
  • Offer consultation to primary care teams regarding diagnosis, treatment options, and behavioral health best practices.
  • Deliver brief supportive interventions and psychoeducation to patients and families.
  • Facilitate timely referrals for specialty behavioral health services and higher levels of care when needed.
  • Document all patient encounters in the electronic health record (Epic) according to BIDMC and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain compliance with BIDMC, BILH, and state/federal policies related to patient care and professional practice.
Desired Qualifications
  • Minimum 1–2 years of clinical experience in outpatient psychiatry, behavioral health, or integrated care preferred
  • Familiarity with collaborative care and integrated behavioral health models strongly desired
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care
