  • As a bonus, M.B.A. or other advanced-level leadership degree or certification
  • Exceptional management and organizational skills, likely developed through several years in management or management consulting.

  • At least five years of business experience working in a start-up or related high-growth organization.
  • Project management experience required to develop broad clinical initiatives that require cross-functional collaboration and efficiently implement them at a busy growing company.
  • Poise. We are looking for a leader who is comfortable in front of an audience, presents naturally and with authority, and will help build the Virta brand.
Responsibilities
  • Drive change across the Virta clinical organization, coordinating key initiatives to advance and meaningfully impact Virta’s OKRs in the service of our patients and our clients. Key partners will include Virta Lead Clinicians (clinical managers) and stakeholders across the business. Examples of key initiatives include (but are in no way limited to):
  • A robust QA program. Working closely with the Director of Quality and Safety, make sure that Virta clinicians are providing evidence-based care to our patients.

Coordinating with the leadership of the coaching, product, and commercial teams on program definition, performance guarantees, metrics reporting, and client communication.
  • Medication deprescription: Work with clinicians and our RNs to identify patients eligible for deprescription and coordinate this process, reporting on successes and opportunities internally and to clients.
  • Analyze financial, quality, clinical, and operational data to identify gaps and opportunities to deliver value to both patients and clients.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Leadership Team to identify, develop and implement the vision and direction of Virta
  • Build culture, set the goals, and help build the team and infrastructure necessary to achieve best-in-class clinical outcomes for our patients
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including clinicians, engineers, and operational leaders, to drive innovation and transformation at scale across the organization; ensuring that solutions are both effective and sustainable
  • Build and lead high-performance project management, data, and communication initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including key opinion leaders, patients, and Virta partners to gather insights, validate innovation and transformation concepts, and ensure their successful adoption through sustainable business models
  • Assure alignment, standardization (where appropriate), and collaboration across the firm to drive organizational strategy, growth, and results (Quality/HRO, Experience, Education/Training, Growth & Financial Stewardship)
  • Define, develop, evaluate, and pilot new workflows and practice models, which may include the use of innovation and transformation methodologies in care delivery

Virta Health focuses on reversing type 2 diabetes through a combination of personalized nutrition, continuous remote care, and behavioral science. Their treatment is designed for individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, healthcare providers, and enterprise partners like employers and health plans. The company operates on a performance-based model, meaning they only receive payment if they achieve successful outcomes for their patients, such as reversing diabetes. This aligns their financial incentives with patient health improvements and encourages the adoption of their services. Virta Health aims to reverse type 2 diabetes in 100 million people, distinguishing itself from competitors by prioritizing diabetes reversal over mere management.
