THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an immediate opening in Spartanburg, South Carolina for an Extrusion Process Technician whose responsibilities include maintaining the extrusion process in the facility, coordinating the industrialization of new products to meet tire specifications while ensuring the process is optimized to maximum output while respecting obtention of quality aspects. Applicant will also be responsible for root cause analysis and helping to develop actions to resolve process or quality issues.

Located in Spartanburg, our plant has been part of the community for over 40 years. Spartanburg offers a great mix of city and country life, with its walkable downtown area and great places to eat. It is located near Greenville, which also offers great living amenities and an international airport. Our facility is home to the X ONE long haul truck tire. We also build heavy duty truck, military, and other large truck tires for our customers.   

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Design tooling using Solidworks to meet product specifications that will be used to construct the tire.
• Create specifications to be used in the manufacturing process.
• Conduct tests to ensure tooling is creating quality products for production.
• Study potential improvements for process performance.
• Monitor quality results to ensure products are performing as expected.
• Study and industrialize new materials for use in the production process.
• Work with other departments to resolve quality issues.
• Lead/Participate in quality planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
• Draw logical conclusions based on in depth analysis of information
• Recognize causes and consequences of actions and events that are not likely apparent.
• Anticipate obstacles considering next steps.
• Persuade by appealing to reason using data, facts and examples.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

• B.S. degree in scientific field and 0-5 years’ experience in process engineering or quality control manufacturing environment or relevant Co-op experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
• Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office® Suite and ability to become proficient in internal software systems.
• Familiarity with quality protocols and understanding of ISO requirements is preferred.
• Attention to detail, data accuracy.

• Knowledge of SolidWorks design software is preferred, but not required.
